So let’s buckle down together as there is still time to achieve anything you put your mind to! [insert high five]
Remember in January when we utilized the month to commit to just one goal that we wanted to achieve?
I asked you to think of one goal, then reflect as to WHY that is your goal – to increase your motivation to complete it. Well…this “Last 90 Days” is going to be the same thing but I am going to help you break down your goal even further so that you can end 2021 with a BANG.
First, let’s establish the goal that you want to achieve in the next 90 days.
Examples could be …
- to organize your closet
- purge your closets
- meal prep
- focus on hydration
- daily meditation
- weekly yoga
- read 3 books
- or anything you want
It doesn’t necessarily have to be something physical just because I work at a health club – but your goal could also be something like “complete 3 workouts a week” or WHATEVER your heart desires.
Take some time to think about it and then write it down in our free downloadable accountability worksheet.
Is it to…
- have a more positive mental headspace?
- feel less stressed?
- decrease the toxicity in your life?
- incorporate more movement to help decrease stress by increasing those positive endorphins?
- stretch more to prevent injury?
What is the REAL reason behind this goal and how does it connect with your core values just like in January?
Once you’ve had some time to think this over, write down your “WHY”.
Establish 3 daily habits that you are ready to incorporate for the Next 90 Days right now.
We need to figure this out by writing down a list of things that need to change in our current lifestyle and then put them in order from first to last based on how realistic it is for you to change these habits right now.
This is called, “Establishing Your Readiness to Change.”
Health coaches like myself use this tool all the time to help our clients change their habits.
Doing this helps you prioritize and incorporate habits that you are 100% ready to change now so that your goal becomes more achievable.
If you focus on habits that you know you won’t change in the next 90 days, then you are setting yourself up for failure.
Now it’s your turn to think of 3 habits that are currently hindering the achievement of your 2021 goal and think of 3 positive changes that you are ready to make that are going to flip that around. Once you figure that out, write down the 3 daily habits that you are ready to incorporate.
This step should be fairly easy for you to complete if you have established 3 habits that you are 100% ready to incorporate right now.
If you find that it is difficult for you to complete one of the habits as you move forward, that is totally okay. Just switch it out a habit you’re more ready for.
On a day-by-day basis, you likely won’t notice much of a difference, but after 90 days of consistently putting these habits into action, it will simply become a part of your lifestyle and you will have achieved your goal by 2022.
You can do this!
Just be patient, be kind to yourself, and if you get off track just make sure that you get back on track as soon as you can. Life happens and putting too much pressure on yourself can make you overwhelmed, but if you follow these simple steps I have no doubt that we will be achieving our goals together.
