There is something about a good old PB&J that takes me back to childhood. PB&J is a flavor combination that is hard to beat – so delicious! As much as a love PB&J, I have found that I love trying new ways to put a spin on the original PB&J. Some of my favorites ways to elevate a PB&J is to smash fresh berries on my peanut butter, slice up a banana on my peanut butter, add chia seeds or flax seeds on top of my PB&J, or making my own strawberry chia jam. It is so simple to make yourself and it has amazing flavor, not to mention super nutrient-dense!

What you need:

  • 1-2 cups strawberries (or any other berry you prefer)
  • 1-2Tbsp chia seeds

Assembly:

  1. cut up strawberries and place them into a saucepan.
  2. put on the stovetop on high heat. Stir frequently.
  3. once your strawberries begin to breakdown into a thick liquid add chia seeds.
  4. pour into an airtight refrigerator safe container, and let cool before using.
  5. Enjoy with your favorite nut butter!
