Brendon Panther brings more than 15 years of experience in strength and sport performance to Performance Health & Fitness, where he has been coaching since 2014. He is the strength and conditioning coach for the Iowa Heartlanders Hockey team.
With a BA and MA in Exercise Science (emphasis in Sport Performance and Strength & Conditioning), along with his USA Weightlifting Level 1 and Precision Nutrition Level 1 certifications, Brendon specializes in Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, and athletic development.
Brendon works with anyone who wants to discover how strong they can truly become—or simply learn how to lift safely and confidently. His focus is on building strength and enhancing sport performance, meeting clients at their current level and guiding them forward with smart, progressive programming.
His training philosophy is simple: Strength is never a weakness. Something is better than nothing. He believes consistency is the foundation of success—showing up is always the most important step. When working with Brendon, members can expect to learn proper lifting technique, build confidence under the bar, and discover how enjoyable resistance training can be.
A lifelong fitness enthusiast, Brendon challenges himself just as he challenges his clients. One of his proudest personal accomplishments was completing a half marathon—well outside his comfort zone. His favorite lift? The deadlift. His least favorite? Cycling (he’ll tell you it hurts too much to sit). When he’s not coaching, you might find him attempting to improve his guitar skills or cheering on the Iowa Heartlanders.
What truly drives Brendon is seeing clients accomplish what they once believed was impossible. Whether it’s someone hitting a PR they never thought they could lift or a TEAM member setting a goal of one pull-up and crushing it with ten, those breakthrough moments are why he loves what he does.

Brendon was an absolute delight to work with. He’s very good at putting his clients at ease and not making them feel like fools if they don’t know what they’re doing. He’s excellent at explaining everything including what muscle you’re working out. His also good explaining to you how to prevent injuries while working out.
