Nick Obbink is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with a degree in Exercise Science and Wellness from Kirkwood Community College. His passion for fitness began in high school and continued to grow in college, where he realized his calling was to help others improve their health, strength, and confidence through personal training.

Nick first joined Performance Health & Fitness as a member, drawn in by the supportive atmosphere and community. After completing his internship here, he knew this was where he wanted to grow his career. He now trains clients of all backgrounds and fitness levels, with a special interest in weightlifting and bodybuilding—but his true focus is helping anyone reach their personal goals, no matter where they’re starting from.

His favorite part of being a personal trainer is watching clients progress—whether it’s lifting heavier, moving with more ease, or simply feeling better in their own skin.

Outside the gym, you’ll find Nick skiing, spending time outdoors, lifting weights for fun, or occasionally getting lost in a good book like Project Hail Mary. He’s also a big fan of steak and twice-baked potatoes, and he shares a soft spot for his family’s dog, Luna—a Wheaten Terrier Poodle mix.
