From the General Manager | December 23, 2020 Update

DECEMBER 23, 2020 UPDATE

 

We understand that outdoor or home exercise can be difficult for many who may be immunocompromised, in particular during winter months in Iowa. Our hope is that we can provide a healthy outlet for those individuals to continue to maintain their health and fitness this winter while creating an environment where they can feel safe to do so.

 

In an effort to accommodate those in our membership family who may be immunocompromised or those who have requested the full use of masks within the facility, Performance Health & Fitness will implement mask required hours during the month of January.

 

These hours will be reserved from 1:30pm-3:30pm each day, Monday through Friday for the duration of the month of January. We will monitor these hours and will review them for any continuation or changes that may take place beyond January 31st.

 

Outside of the hours of 1:30pm-3:30pm Monday through Friday, we will continue to follow the guidance found in the governor’s proclamation which requires of the use of masks/face coverings at indoor businesses with the exception to remove them while actively exercising. We just ask that you please utilize a mask or face covering while entering/exiting the facility and while in any common areas where social distancing may be difficult such as locker room, stairwell, and lobby areas.

 

As always, we ask that all of our members, guests, and staff to stay home if they are symptomatic or believe they may have been exposed to the virus until they have been cleared by their primary care provider.

About Mary Brown, Marketing & Communications Director

Mary Brown, Marketing & Communications DirectorMary Brown has a bachelors degree from the University of Northern Iowa and has over 15 years of marketing, advertising, and project management experience. Prior to coming to Performance, she spent several years working a with Boston-based CrossFit Equipment company in their marketing department, which is where she gained valuable working knowledge of brand management, website design and maintenance, and search engine optimization. When she's not working she loves to run the trail system by her house in Iowa City, Olympic Lift and spend time with her family.

Group Fitness Classes are included in ALL Performance Health & Fitness Membership types.

Group Class Reservation

All group class events require registration prior to attendance. Registration for group classes may be made using our member portal, www.myiclubonline.com, from 7 days in advance to 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the event. In club reservations can be made at any time by contacting our Service Desk during business hours. If your desired class has already reached maximum capacity prior to your registration, you can request to be added to a waitlist to be notified if any reservations are cancelled prior to the start time.

Group Class Reservation Cancelation (Effective as of January 1, 2021)

Reservations for group class events must be cancelled at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Failure to cancel your reservation prior to 30 minutes before the scheduled start time and not attending your reserved class event will also result in a $5.00 late cancellation or no-show fee, which is automatically applied to your membership account.

Challenge yourself with our TEAM Training Program

 

Who is the TEAM Training Program for?

Everyone can benefit from TEAM Training at Performance Health & Fitness. Each workout includes mobility work, strength training, and HIIT-style conditioning – and is completely scalable to each individual’s ability level.

 

What can I expect in a TEAM training workout?

  • TEAM Training workouts are the perfect place to find the motivation to push yourself to new limits.
  • You’ll be training alongside your teammates while gaining energy and confidence from each other.
  • Our TEAM coaches provide a high-energy, motivating and fun experience in every session.
  • Sessions last 45 minutes and are designed to maximize your time in the gym.
  • You’ll progress through mobility, strength and HIIT-style conditioning phases that will leave you feeling stronger after each workout and ready to meet your next challenge.

 

How often should I attend TEAM Training sessions?

Our TEAM Training group meets at 5:15 am and 9:00 am every Monday-Friday.

Each training session is specifically designed so you won’t complete the same workout twice, so attending 5 days a week is highly recommended, but not required. As with most things, consistency is key, so we recommend training with us at least 3 days per week.

If you already work with one of our personal trainers throughout the week, TEAM Training is a great way to supplement your personal training program (and you’ll get some “extra credit” points with your trainer).

 

How do I get started in TEAM Training?

CURRENT FIT MEMBERS
You can upgrade your current FIT membership to a TEAM membership at any time. The cost to do so is only an additional $50 per month, which includes unlimited access to our TEAM training workouts, plus all the same benefits you currently receive as a FIT member.

CURRENT PERSONAL TRAINING MEMBERS

If you have one of our training memberships, you already have complimentary access to the TEAM Training program. There are no additional costs to participate.

NON-MEMBERS

TEAM membership is only $99 billed month-to-month with no annual contracts or additional fees.

 

I’m still not sure TEAM Training is for me. Can I try it out first?

Absolutely! We’d love for you to experience what the TEAM Training Program has to offer.

She loves motivating participants during class and enjoys encouraging people to try new activities and achieve their goals. Working with kids has been a part of her life since she was 9 years old. She loves watching them learn new skills, conquer their fears, and grow and progress daily. Becky enjoys teaching both adults and kids, encouraging and motivating in every class! Outside the gym, she loves reading, doing triathlons, running, tennis and spending time with her family.
