Intro to Kettlebell Class – Aug 12th at 9am; Aug 16th at 5:50am, Aug. 18th at 6am
Monte is a StrongFirst Certified Kettlebell Instructor Level 1 and will present a free one hour introduction to the kettlebell. If you want to learn how to safely become more powerful with a kettlebell or just have a curiosity, just show up and invest 60 minutes of your time to attend this free class. Information covered will include the swing, squat, press, snatch, clean and get up. Kettlebell safety, technique, and creating body tension will be demonstrated and practiced. Finally, participants will learn the proper kettlebell swing. Functional Movement Screen
Certified Personal Trainer and Functional Movement specialist Monte Priske can take you through a series of simple exercises designed to identify an individual’s physical limitations and asymmetries. It is an excellent foundation for developing stable, efficient movement patterns. Knowing what areas need attention through stretching and strengthening will improve your physical performance whether at the gym or at home. The Functional Movement Screening is a quick 10 minute assessment that doesn’t require a warm up or even make you break a sweat. But the power of this ten minute assessment can help you fine tune your body for optimum performance in both athletic pursuits and day to day movements. Fitness and exercise have always been a passion for Monte. Throughout high school, he participated in many sports and weight training. In college, he played rugby at the University of Iowa. Monte’s adult fitness interests have included running marathons, half marathons, strength training and yoga.
Two years ago he became a certified kettlebell instructor. As he started training others, he knew assisting others to become strong and reach their fitness goals was his calling. He has since become certified as a personal trainer and functional movement specialist. His goals as a trainer are to share his knowledge and enthusiasm to assist clients in maximizing their fitness and improving their quality of life. His special interest is in helping middle aged people like himself reach their fitness goals while making strength training an integral part of their personal fitness and wellness program.
